I guess it depends on who purchases more ad space in the magazine. ;)

it doesnt make any damn sense that the evo would be faster. those morons at motortrend are freaken retarded.

you have 2 cars, they both weight the same.
One has 300hp/300ftlbs of torque from a 2.5ltr turbo engine
and the other is like approx276hp and probably less torque from a 2ltr turbo, yet the one with less power is going to be faster. yeah right. Mitsubishi sucks anyway, why are they making their cars look retarded with their little front end treatment.

the sti is just as riced up from the factory... they both look gay imo... but I'd take the evo way before the wrx though...

IMO an evo is just an AWD eclipse with better suspension and more boost.

^that's why I like it more...

It's tried and true unlike the 2.5... they don't even use the 2.5 in japan... they use the 1.8 due to the racing rules....

I'd be way more confident in a block that's been coming turbo and awd for over 15yrs...

true, with a new motor being introduced you probably dont wanna go out and spend 30k and hope it'll be reliable.

but an extra half a liter is awfully nice.

Well, there's a lot more to it than just that.

There's gearing ratios, power curve, peak range of power, turbo efficiency/capacity, etc. Just looking at peak power numbers isn't going to tell you much.

Out of curiosity, why do you hate Mitsu so much?

I was reading Superstreet and this month's issue had a long article on the STi and basically all they said was that they really can't compare the two because of it being fairly new (and they don't have the ability to really test them to their full potential)
but that the STi has high potentials
I like the way it looks, rather than the "neonisque headlights it did have
but Subaru removed the radio deck from the factory model because it didn't meet weight standards with it in, but it comes prewired so an aftermarket can be added

Specs:
STi - 2.5L DOHC 16vavle Horizontally Opposed 4 cylinder turbo and intercooler
300hp @ 6000 rpm, 300lb-ft @ 4,000rpm
3,263 lbs
front engine, AWD
6speed manual
base price - $30,995

EVO - 2.0L DOHC 16 vavlve I-4, turbo and intercooler
271 hp @ 6500 rpm, 273 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm
3,263 lbs
front engine AWD
5 speed manual
base price - $28,987

I'm not realy sure on the reliablility of either so I'd have to check into that kinda thing before I would make a real decision. not all depends on power

true, but i gaurantee the sti is faster. the power curve of a 2.5ltr turbo is going to look alot better than a 2ltr turbo.

i hate mitsu cause their cars are ugly. theyre like pontiac with that whole every car has to have the same retarded front end, idea.
