I own a 2001 Honda Civic LX with that lil 1.7 nonvtec motor with about 70K miles. Im really wanting to put a bigger engine in it but im not sure where to go. i know i want a vtec but i dont know what will fit in my car. I'd like to fit a H22 prelude engine in it but i havent ever heard of anyone doing this with a Civic body. if not that id like to find a Accord V6 engine but i still dont know what i will be able to fit in my car. If anyone knows id really appreciate the help muchthanx ;) ;)

h22 would be pushing it but it's probobly possible... a v6 is TOTALLY out of the question unless you do this professionally and have a bottomless bankaccount or sponsor.

order it online... that doesn't solve your fitement issue though...

go to h-t and search... you'll find out one way or the other... if not just ask...

b18 would fit better, but i have HEARD of the H22 being done, not all too sure if it can fit and all. But now that i think about it. i dont think you would be able to do many mods to it since the size issue and such.

umm hello? is anyone even paying attention to what this guy is saying??

you cant fit a B series into your car. sorry, it isnt gonna happen.

you CAN however swap in a K20 (Si, CTR, RSX-S, RSX-R.) or K24 (CRV) or do a K20 head w/ K24 block.......but since i have a feeling you arent too knowledgeable - w/ the info you now have, do more research :)

yeah you can, it'll be expensive though. search on google.com about it i'm sure something will come up.

The H22 swap is stupid - there is no way the front end on a Civic is designed to handle that much more power/torque.

it's not designed to absorb torque the WAY the h22 puts it out...

if civic front ends couldn't handle 200+ hp and high torque then NOBODY would have a fast civic...

It doesn't matter if the power comes from an h22 or a b18 built up... or a b20 whatever... it can handle the power it just doesn't like the way it's applied by the h22....

which has also been realitively dis-proven.... there are LOTS of dudes who LOVE their h22 swaps... and have had NO problems... well... having to do with this particular issue...

I haven't heard of ANYONE ripping their chassis apart...
