Hey I just bought a Short Ram AEM Air Intake for my 94 civic. My friend that was gonna help me install it left town and is gone for a week or so. and I dont really want to wait that long to install it. So I figure I will just fo it myself. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Mabey some pictures if you have any. I really appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks

real easy

all that black tubing and boxing...remove it
dont break any sensors and dont throw anything away

its very straight forward...anyone can do it...just takes common sense

tighten all your clamps when finished so nothing can fall off...double check everything when you think youre finished

oh...and when trying to cram the sensors into the gromets, use a little lube (water, wd40, silocone spray) so its not a struggle to put them in (just use enough for it to get wet...dont use a ton)

use your elementary skills and you'll be fine

if you have a cd player, make sure you know the anti-theft code before you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, you don't wanna go through the hassle of finding those damn code like i did (ended up gettin' a new cd player anyways! )

and i don't think its a good idea to touch the sensor with your hands..

a monkey could install an intake..with that said its easy as hell...

why would you disconnect the battery to do an intake?

incase you run the risk of.. ripping a few constant 12v wires and putting them on your tongue.

just because the AEM papers told me so.. and what TeriyakiBroccoli said...even if its stupid to do or not, it won't hurt to disconnect the battery..

yes...we all know that rubber stock intakes are very good conductors of electricity...and even if it was a good conductor...its not connected to the battery...

you dont need to do it...to reset the ecu, maybe...but just drivin for awhile it resets itself anyway (or so Ive thought)

heh, but technically it is attached to the battery.

technically im attached to the battery right now.. you know, the battery is touching the battery holder, the holder is connected to the car, the car is touching the ground the ground is touching molten MAG-MA... the molten MAG- MA is touching the ground that I'm standing on.. (well sitting) (well, in a chair)

Well me and another friend put it in today. Man it was easy as hell. I didnt notice much of a performance gain. But it does sound good. All in all I'm happy with it.

you can't really notice much power gain from any intake
