This is my first post here and I am looking to buy like a 1996/1997 Honda Prelude to make it into a tuner car for like racing and stuff. I was wondering on which would be the best model Prelude to mod for a 1996/1997 prelude. I read the post on the LS/VTECH thingy and it made that sound like it wasn't worth the money. I figured I would ask you guys because you have knowledge on this stuff and you could help me. Thanks alot!

heh, get a 92-96 vtec, obd1 then mod it to hell. ls/vtec is only for civics and intgras with the b series engines, but the prelude has a h22 which is the mutha of all n/a 4 bangers

I wanted a 96/97 prelude because I like the body style and I was wondering if they have the H22 motor in it? Or would I have to do an engine swap?

96 was the 4th generation body style, and 97 was the 5th generation body style. all 5th gens came with an h22, and as long as you dont get the automatic/SS then either model of 5th gen would be nice. also for 4th gens only get a vtec model. the SI's are nice, but if you really want to make it fast and plan on doing alot of mods, the h23 dosnt have the aftermarket choices of a h22.
