Hey guyz,
I am a student and thinking of getting a 1991 or 1992 Accord EXR. I would like to hear some comments and suggestions on what I should be looking for. Also, I would like to find out how much should I expect to spend on repairs on average...it is an 11year of car after all. Well plz leave me some comments, I would greatly appreciate it.
P.S. Ohh btw, Does $4000-5000 Canadian sound reasonable???

If you can, get the '92. It has a slightly restyled bumper and trunklid. It also has 140 rated horsepower vs. the '91's 130. It's also a slightly newer car and has been through one less Canadian winter.
Yes, 4-5 grand sounds reasonable for a '91 EX-R, but a '92 will likely start a little higher than that. Hondas are generally good for 300,000+ km's.
If you like the styling of the '90-'91 cars better, don't let that 10 hp advantage swap you though. I've seen dyno charts for friends' cars showing a '92 F22A1 edging out a '93 F22A6, with similar mods.
When you get the car and want to start modding it, or you just want more help finding a good dealer or deal, head over to http://www.torontoaccords.com/
Good luck!

Hey, welcome to HS!!
Just one question.. Why dont you step down to a lower trim level and get a newer car? I mean it would a safer strategy dont you think?

Get the 92...no reason really, it's just that I have a 4th gen too... Don't expect to pay much on repairs, cuz Hondas generally don't break or need repair...just "modifications"

Well, I thought about getting a newer car, but that would mean having to wait another year to safe enouph monney. What I figure is that if I get a 1991 or 1992 Accord at about 200,000-250,000km. I can run it well for atleast 3 years and then if it still works well give it to my younger brother and get a new car or if it dies in 3 years then no biggie, by then I should have the monney for a better car.

Lika Accord Man said, I've been seeing deals all over for cheap cars. You could probably get a low end dx or lx 94 for near the same price as a nice 91 ex-r. Just keep shopping around, but no matter what, you'll be very happy driving an accord.

you got an ok strategy.. but I think you should try real hard to go newer/lower trim.
