Did my header the other night... retightened everything and slapped on the catco I got... I'm very impressed... if my car had ANY power it would have made a big difference... it did about the same as the header did... just loosened up the restriction in the exhaust... the vtec engagement has become WAY less noticable making me believe that my mid range has picked up more than anything else... it's real nice though..

It's making me wanna get springs retainers and a cam though...

I gotta stop.

Oh and I ALMOST finished putting in the rest of the front-end pieces of my ES master kit... did the upper control arm bushings and the shock bushings... seems to have stiffened it up a bit but made the rear-ends loosness more obvious. all that's left up-front are the main rack mounts and the lca shock mounts... the rear only has the the 3per side bushings on the lca's... so that should go pretty quick.

So with the Catco did you notice a change in sound? Also, is there a noticable smell coming from your exhaust like a gutted cat can do?

No there is NO smell at all... it has WAY more catalyst area than the stocker does... it's way fatter too...

As far as the sound I'd say it was quiter AFTER I put on the cat... the header I did the other day made it a little louder (my wife noticed too) but the cat seems to have quited it right back to normal... course that could also just be the re-tightening of the header...

My only complaint is that it sits a little crooked... so any big shakes and it may knock... I'll give it a couple of days and see how it is... so far no noise though..

like I said it picked up a little power... the weirdest thing is how un-noticable vtec is now though... I mean in first and second I thought it wasn't kicking in at all... I was reving high but there was never a jolt.... in third at full throttle it jumped a little though.. definately not as much as before...

getting on the highway this morning it felt like I was accelerating a little faster... I usually floor it from 1st to 4th till I'm doing 75-80 and I wasn't nearly as far up the highway as I usually am when I hit 80 today...

I couldn't begin to guess what kinda hp it gave though... really more drivability than anything... not as much engine braking or as much need for throttle to keep it going at speed now..
