ya this was over on h-t...

it looks cool and all but who the F would buy a car like that... that's something you'd want to build yourself... much less buy off of ebay.

You know it would be nice to buy a 92-95 civic, then invest the money into it... but really if i was strapped for time and just wanted something nice, then i'd buy a car that was already done up and even save some money i bet.

A friend of a friend of mine had a del sol with over 38k invested... b16a motor w/turbo and nitrous... ran 12's or 13's w/o the nitrous. EVERYTHING was upgraded tranny axels internals... thing was SICK.. really ugly (it was purple I think I posted a description of it that may be archieved) but sick.

ANYWAY... he was trying to sell it for over a year... EVERY local paper ebay online.. friends gas stations... EVERYWHERE... he ended up taking like 12k for it... You never get what you invested back and if you're the buyer you're taking a HUGE risk... there is NO guarantee with individual sales... that thing could blow 2 minutes after you start it and there is bacically NOTHING you can do about it... buyer beware.

and the chances of getting something "nice" that is built that much are 1 in a million.

thats a whole lotta miles on any modded car

there's only like 15k on the motor the miles shown are just the chassis miles. which can be bad but most wear parts on civics are readily available in the aftermarket.. bushings etc.

Cool car...it sucks that you can never get back what you've put into an automobile like that. It makes sense that you can't, but...yeah. It still sucks. Gotta do it for personal fulfillment, I suppose(and if you put too much in pray that you never want to sell it, lol)

Hmm, bet that civic would hand it to a vr6....dontcha think nonuv?!? :|

...yea, civics can definately never be fast....:|

considering he probobly has over 20k into that... he'll be LUCKY if he gets 12k for it now...

it runs HIGH 11's... that could be accomplished in a talon for about 2-3k.

No it's not fast... 9's 10's are fast. there are fast civics... they just have 20+ thousand dollars into them... they are also NEVER street driven... there are LOTS of street driven (daily) 9 and 10 sec talons...

Matter of fact theres one about 5 miles from my house.. at Pruven performance... maybe I should change my screenname... .

again the endless argument..when will it ever end?;)
eh it adds to the entertainment, but I'd never buy a car that modded there would be no pride "oh oh look at my fast car"
'did you do it with your own money?'
"...uh...no"
'LOSER!"

I may be the only one to notice but that is not grabber blue. My 71 fastback is grabber blue, a darker color.

Dude, i think that a high 11 second civ is EXTREMELY fast for a street legal, street car. this civic will pretty much beat anything it comes across on the street.

that's why i'm keeping my car...

this is my first car...and it'll be the last.

it's a standard civic...yeah, but i'm planning on working on it for the next 10+ years...just slowly and slowly...

the only way of driving another car is by leasing or buying another one...as i'm most likely keeping this one forever.

as I said it's fast... and NO if he comes across any better car with as much money put into it he'll probobly lose...

also that may or may not be street legal.. i'm not going to argue it.

If you drove that thing on the street for 2 mins you'd realize why fwd is NOT what you want if you want a high horsepower daily driver...

as I said and is shown in the link... you CAN have a 9 or 10 sec. talon with hardly ANY money and NO traction problems (well sort of).

So yeah it's fast... it just cost WAY more and is SLOWER than another car would be.

As far as it burning anything it sees on the street... not likely AT ALL... any awd car with 30-40% LESS horsepower would probobly take it just on rolling traction issues alone... much less the LEAP that an awd car would have on that thing at launch.

I'm not dissing it.. it's a REALLY fast civic... but it's not all that.. and it cost WAY more than any number of other cars would've with the same goal... not just more mod money but the chassis are expensive for a civic cuz they're soooo popular with kids who don't know that there are better cars than the ones in F&F.

but WHY would you WANT a really FAST car if your ONLY going the SPEED limit or a LITTLE above it?

it's a WASTE of MONEY if you're NOT going to RACE it out IN the TRACK...

I wouldn't waste my time going to tracks even if I had a sub 13 sec car.. hp is for acceleration not speed...

and I don't know about you but with my 127 crank hp I don't drive the speed limit or a little above it... so I don't think I'd mind having power to spare.

well, i never go the speed limit and i'm the one on the left lane forcing slower cars to change lanes...with my whoop-ass dx.

It is street legal, it says it on its ebay page.

Yea, it'd prolly lose to any other car with as much money into it as the civ, but who the hell does that? lol....seriousely tho...its rare to see dedicated tuners, all i see round here is people with fast stock cars...nothing above 12 secs tho.

i talked to my friend, and he has a friend that has a boosted civ Si, and its rebuilt to the hilt and its tricked out, and alls he has is sways, good stablizers and some JIC-Magic coilovers, and some good tires, and he does perfectely fine....i dunno, does the b18 make that much of a dif on traction? if anything all i'll prolly need is some preloaded springs, or a traction bar...what do you think about my friends Si.

I think thats almost the beauty of having a lot of power, not really flaunting it, but when you do, you tear the person apart with your little civic, that no one would exspect that from a civ...that my whole point in boosting a b18c1 swap into my civ....its almost a sleeper if i didn't have all my exterior mods.

So everyone's expecting a sentra to whip there ass... or an eclipse etc...

Your friends si isn't pushing serious power if he hasn't replaced TONS of driveline stuff... and I don't think your getting the whole story...

Lots of kids cars are "modded to the hilt" and "run great" "no problems" until you talk to the kid with the car...

Like I've said in other posts my buddy's friend had a del sol with a b16 (and just so you know the b16 has WAY lower torque then any b18) and he snapped axels left and right needed to have the ENTIRE tranny rebuild with MUCH more expensive pieces.... he had slicks and an lsd and had NOTHING but traction problems... still shattered axels.. that's what happens when you run 400+ hp through 2 axels not even 1.5" thick... even the upgraded "drag" axels break... no not as often but it still happens... and sure that happens for ALL cars as well but lots of other cars are just built stronger from the factory... my buddies rx-7 will just about NEVER need a rear-end upgrade... the gears and axels are all REDICULOUSLY over engineered... where as are's are engineered to perfection.. once you step out of the designer's expectations you need to redesign all those things.
