Which would you do if you didnt want your stock clock would you get the JDM clock filler piece or would you instal something functional like a VAFC in the opening? I kinda like that JDM clock filler myself....but damn a VAFC would be tight in there as well....decisions decisions :)

I think I am leaning toward the VAFC....I wonder how close in size it is to the actual opening? :)

it's bigger...couldn't tell you exact specs, but it wouldn't fit in the cut out for the clock.

A V-AFC is only fuctional if you have aftermarket cams and need to adjust your fuel mapping.

The stock VTEC crossover point is optimized for your stock cams. Unless you have swapped out for more aggressive cams, I would leave it alone. People who have installed VTEC timers to engage VTEC lower in their rev range are idiots, unless they have grinded their VTEC lobe to be less aggressive- in which case they're still idiots. When more aggressive cams are installed, the VTEC point needs to be moved up. Stock cams? Stock VTEC timing.

As for air/fuel mapping, this only becomes important late in the game- after FI, nitrous, or those aggressive cams we were talking about. Without these, expect maybe 2-3 horsepower at some points, with losses of 2-3 at other points.

Still worth the $400?

yeah its worth it to me....B18C5 everything that can be done is done except VTEC controller and FI which Im not gunna do. Stock pistons, rodsand crank and thats it everything else is modified. But to be honest this was just a question to try and get some people to post :)

What cams are you running? Valvetrain? There's a lot left for you to do. The burliest cams need a high redline, and that's gonna require some bottom end work, even on the ITR internals.

Crower 63402's with the Crower/Eibach valve springs and titanium retainers

VAFC still makes a difference once you've opened up the air flow...throttle/headers/exhaust/intake.
It's true...it does come fully into play once the cams are swapped, but there's stll power to be found without them....
