Hey guys, quick question but you have to be 110% positive about this. I have a friend who has a B16 (99-00 Si engine I believe, right?) in his 91 Civic. He wants to get a Vortech SC for naturally his 99-00 Si engine. But will it fit in the engine bay of a 91 Civic? There is a no return policy on SC where hes getting it from so he wants to me really really really sure its gonna fit. Thanks in advance!

personally I dont think I would hang a 3k purchase on anything anyone would tell you on here, but here is what I think. Thats probably not going to be a bolt in and go. As it is you have next to no room in the engine bay. Its going to require some fabrication, no question. Look around online and see what others have done.

Again, honestly I don't know, I'm just giving you what I think.

go to honda-tech.com if you can do it I'm sure someone on there has done it... if it's not possible I'm SURE someone there found out and told everyone.

I wouldn't think that vortech would have info on whether or not it fits motor A in car B...

but you never know it's worth a shot...

I just searched h-t...

http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=276029

it's kinda confusing there's no real answer... the vortech will only fit on the a2 not the a1.. cuz of the powersteering pully type... but I believe they said you can swap that... also someone posted a pic of it done (I think the pic was no longer available) try to pm him and see if he can dig up the pic for you.

Just a side note just about everyone agreed you don't want a vortec... they're all saying jr or turbo (go turbo) and their arguement is pretty valid... the vortech doesn't spool up for a LONG time because it WAY oversized... so it has the draw-backs of BOTH turbo and sc... IE parasitic loss at idle and low rpms due to it being pully driven... AND lag... lots of it.

hope that was some help.

read that thread it'll get you going in the right direction.
