Jetta VR6....

Well, for those of you that didn't read my post in the kills section, i raced a jetta...at the time, i didn't know what kinda jetta it was...heres the story behind how i figrued it out...its pretty good:...

Since i've gotten my car, adn modded it, i've noticed a certain cop, that everytime i see him he's checkn out my car alot. And today when i on the way to drop my friend off to work, i saw that cop pull somone over, and he was getting bacck into his car, and he was coming up on my tail fast...i pulled into my friends work that was jsut up the road from where the cop pulled the person over, and the cop turned in too....he pulled behind me, and i watched him get out of his car, and right away he said, "don't worry, you're not gunna get a ticket." so i was relieved. Then he asked, :Did you by any chance race a silver jetta last night on sir francis drake blvd?" i was hesitant to answer. finnaly i said yes. then he said, "Yea, that was me." i never expected it to be him, cause i thought he had a civic....then he asked me what the hell i had under the hood, cause he was impressed at how well i did against his VR6. i popped the hood, and e looked under, and was suprised to just see a d16y8...i was like, "yea, people tend to underestimate civics sometimes." hes like, ,"yea!! damn, i totaly under estimated oyu, i thought i was gunna smoke you bad, but you were right there with me." if you dont' recall from the kill story, i told of the second time we raced after i slowed up the second time...he was pulling on me slowely...no blowing me away in an sense. so all you civic haters out there that think they're the slowest thing out there ever...think again :yes:

alls i know, is i fricken kept up with a vr6 ;)

my buddy's 16valve pulls on my d16 and his buddy's vr6 BURNS him and I mean BURNS him... it's got an intake and exhaust that's it.

There just is no way... I'd be willing to bet my car I could burn you in a vr6 ALL DAY LONG.

I'm really not trying to hate on you... obviously your a better driver than him which says something seeing as he got training (i'm assuming). but there is no way your d16 can burn a properly running properly driven vr6. It's physics... you can't beat them.

oh and is that "spiral max" in your sig a joke?

If he could read "jetta" the guy couldn't drive that thing... they TAKE OFF when you get on them... my buddy and I were driving around for a whole night with a dude in a relatively stock vr6 and he was TEARING EVERYONE else apart... 1.8t's 16v 2.0 gti's 1.8 gti's 8v gti's sciroccos... etc etc...

those cars are REALLY fast when compared to ANY four banger much less a 1.6...

A good driver in one could beat 2.4 liter sentra spec-v's... they're quick.. there is just NO way that a competant driver in a vr6 wouldn't ROAST a d series... I'd bet money that it'd beat a turbo d16... anything under 10-12psi...

especially on the top end... they TARE butt after 80.

Do you have one? then you don't know anythign about a spiral max...i noticed when i installed it, that it gave me a lil more throttle response, and a bit more high end power. my friend got one and noticed the same thing.


Do remember that i said he beat me the second time we went...in both the ones i won, i started a car length ahead....so i barely beat him but i did.

I dunno how i'd of dun if i started from a stop, but all i know is how fast he was pullin on me, which wasn't that fast, its not like he BLEW me away. Even if the driver was that bad, and which heprolly wasn't casue he was a cop, then wouldn't his car make up for it? ...or i guess i'm a better driver then i thought...:yes:

I have NO idea how it happened or what... no if the guy has an automatic and didn't get on it enough to kickdown to the next lowest gear the car ain't going anywhere....

if it's stick and he's in a higher gear then again... it aint gunna have the power it should...

here's a simple way to find out...

go out and LOOK for a vr6 to race. You'll lose.

as far as cops not being bad drivers.... are you serious... most cops can't drive for their life.... only some get serious training for driving and even then "serious" training is like 1 day at a place where they spin around on wet pavement for a day... it has nothing to do with trying to drive fast... a cop drives fast by having a MUCH more powerfull engine... you STOMP on the gas and it goes... not much thinking or driving skill envolved in that.

and the level that you're convinced that your 1.6 liter is faster than a 6cyl. is REALLY amazing...

at least 4 people have TOTALLY agreed with me... there is NO way in hell that your car would beat a vr6 EVEN WITH NITROUS

much less a pacesetter (proven to cause power loss over stock exhaust) 16" wheels (how much do those things weigh?) an aem and a "sprial max"...

lets sat for the sake of arguement that spiral max isn't just cloggin up your intake pipe... there's what do they say 5% (not a F'ing chance) that brings your 130 (again being generous) to 138 at MOST... then you put on the pacesetter... oops... back to 130.. then the aem up to 140 (being VERY generous) that's ALL you have for performance mods... course I'm sure the pedals and quickshifter made a HUGE dif. your still about oh 40 horse off of what a vr6 has and they're about the same weight...

Long story short... you raced a car that had a HORRIBLE driver or his car is about to shit the bed.

Actually he is still about 80 off....I think that they are stock with 220.. I know the GTI VR6's are 220. There are a few at my school that i wouldnt race..:no:

tuned correctly and they're pretty decent...

this is getting old...

I have no idea what a "tsudo" muffler is... the piping on pacesetters are poorly bent and small... I'm not sure WHY they lose hp over stock exhausts (I can't even believe it's possible that a company releases and continues to sell such an exhaust but.... I've seen SEVERAL dyno's of before and after ALWAYS with a loss...) if you have the header too then it's even worse... I was saying JUST the exhaust... if you have their header that's another 5-10 drop...

The reason I can't ACCEPT you kept up is because if it was running right or he could drive it would be beyond the laws of physics unless you have 50-80 hp extra that a bird crapped onto you car....

Your mods (even if the list was MUCH longer) there's just about no way a d16 could keep up with a vr6.

there are no "civic gods"... it's a car and it conforms to the laws of physics just like EVERYTHING else in the world... vr6's burn type r integra's... I don't think your civic EX is faster than a type r.

and as far as "keeping my slow civic"... I'm a poor dude... it's a GREAT commuter car... which is what I use it for... it's fun on the highway above 75-80 and it's fun to drive around on backroads with... and even if I did have money to replace it I wouldn't... it runs great and drives great... it's just not fast.... and it never will be... cuz to get "fast car" performance out of a civic you have to be willing to dump 2-10 grand into it just to have a decently fast car in the end... there are 5-50 cars out there that could take the mods I'd have to put on a swap motor on their stock motor AND yield higher numbers/performance in the end... for the money it takes to make a civic "fast" you could buy a SECOND car and mod that and end up with 2 cars; the good one having cost less and performing better than the civic would if you put all that money into it.

Look at what's his name who just got a tsi... fresh off of EBAY for gods sake he's BURNING all sorts of cars you won't have a chance against for a LONG LONG time unless you hit the lotto...

if you swapped in a c1 and boosted it to 8-10lbs the tsi will still be faster than yours... plus his car could be had for 1000 bucks 2500 for one that runs strong and doesn't need any work.

You'd be 5-8 grand into your civic (not to mention whatever you paid for it to start) to get SMOKED by a car that was bought off of ebay for under 3k and is still STOCK.

the vr6 will waste a civic anyday unless the civic has a lot of money invested into it. the only reason i can think of that you kept up to him was that he miss shifted a couple times, or was on drugs

I noticed the power increase after i put the headers on, and i noticed it go up a lil after i put the new muffler on it also...so whatever.

Yea, the dude got a TSI....off ebay....what the hell is the fun in that? already tuned for you?:rolleyes: I in this for cars, and for the fun of adding parts myself, and installing them myself...and i'm prouid of how my car performes...its decently fast compared to a lot of cars around where i live....where i live, we go from low grade tuenrs like civics, accords, integras, and then jump way the hell up to ferrari's and lambos, and maseratis, and vettes, and whatever the hell else is up there with them...but those people dont' wanna race, their all yuppies with a lot of money...enough to buy a fast car. the people i race, are other civics, integras, and well....that yummy Saleen that came along yesturday :drool:

all i know is that you raced the car in question from a 2nd gear roll until 60 and claimed to beat it by 4 cars in your "kill thread" if thats the case the vr6 wasnt trying... hell i dont think if he just stood there the ex would even have the power to pull 4 cars in that time from a fixed object let alone a racer ;)

I asked him why he wasn't passing me up the first time we gunned it, and he said he was just fukn around...:confused: ...so yea, the WHOLE FUKING POINT, is that i stayed with him, that he wasn't pulling too hard on me...the hwole Fricken rest of the story doesn't even need to be to posted.

I kept up with a VR6, didn't beat it, but stayed with it....end of story, nuff said.

I drive REALLY fast on the highway... my average cruising speed is 80... I have NO problem doing 100..

On my daily commute I drive about 25 exits on 95... I have COMPLETELY left bmw's and other nice cars in the dust who were DESPERATELY trying to keep up... because they are old men who don't know how to drive a modern car... they get scared as the suspension STARTS to load... so they back off.. THEY can not beat ME... their CAR will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS SPANK my car like it was a rotten kid (which it is).

So just because I was out ripping around and I beat a WAY faster car... I'm NOT going to sit here and say... "my civic roasted a bmw"... and it WAS a roasting... left the guy punching his steering wheel with NO ONE in between us... just open road... and me waving "bye bye" at him. I don't know if he didn't know he was not flooring it or he had never changed the oil or what... point is I beat him not his car; and I could NEVER beat his car; it's just faster and better.

So if he wants a pat on the back for finding someone who can't drive their fast car fast then...

I can't afford to have a car that's fast... I need a reliable car... and again.. I'd bet money I could hand you your ass... with my civic.

I don't hate civics at all.. I hate D'bag kids who run around driving them like they're fast cars... they are NOT fast cars... I have NEVER been beaten by another civic EVER... no I have not raced anything special but PLENTY of IDENTICAL cars... mine runs VERY well.. I tune my car... keep up on maintanance and address issues/deficencies AS they arise... they just are NOT fast cars.

So to answer your question...

I don't have a nice reliable fast car cuz they're too expensive...

I don't have a kids fast car because they're too unreliable and expensive to maintain.

I keep my civic because I HAVE IT.. and it runs without problems. I like my car a lot... I'm just not all disillusioned like your are about what I drive.

when and IF you get a gsr motor and boost it (w or w/o a build) I'll have no problem patting you on the back when you smoke a car that YOU COULD... however if you post on the kills section about how you just tore up a talon I'll laugh at you and call you dumb... becaue if you believe it you are dumb.
