Neons?

Do you think the Neons lights is illegal in the state?

I saw the car with undernearth the neon lights.

U think the neon lights are look terrible on outside?

it all depends... I think they're lame for the most part but I've seen cars that look NASTY with them.

In most, if not all states, it is illegal to have neon lights on while driving. In some cases you can turn them on when you are not driving the car.

Personally, I think they look ridiculous.

I agree...

most states it's only illegal if:
A. they are red or blue
B. you can see the light source... the glow is usually legal.

Like I said usually I think it looks dumb... but I've seen some classic cars that just plain looked SICK with it... on civics though it's pretty lame... they make good interior lights though.

my buddy did his 70 impala with neon interior lights. It looks GREAT.

..no but I have red neons under my dash and its just nifty to see people look and be...."neeeaaaattt"
the only time I've seen neons on the outside of a car look nice was when it was glowing out the front bumper of a kit, illuminating the intercooler....looks nifty
oh and here in Florida it's only illegal if they can see the bulb itself, doesnt matter about the glow

ya usually it's only illegal if you can see the bulb....

the one car I've seen that looked NASTY with it was a completely jet black 50's lead sled (kind escapes me) it has really subtle puple flek in the paint and had the most even uniform glow of purple under it... it just looked scary coming up the road... but if you ain't got some serious RUMBLE to back up the neons DO NOT GET THEM ON THE OUTSIDE.

I think you should do whatever you want. If you think neons are cool, then stick them on your car. Nothing I'd ever do though.

it depends on the car, color, and how they are done. I dont like most of em, but on some it looks good

My two cents:

I think neons are ugly if they're VISIBLE...if you can see a glow I think they're all right, depending on the color combination you got goin on. I have red bass response ones set up under my dash and I think they're all right...:paranoid:

Last summer we had a meet and a cop came over to see what was going on and before we went to cruise we inquired because a couple of our Boise club members had the underbody glow goin on, and he said it was perfectly legal.

However...

I also know of at least three people who received tickets for havin the same stuff last summer.

I'd put red underbody stuff if the tubes weren't visible. They aren't on my list of priorities right now though. Someone decided my car would look good if they stabbed a screwdriver into the side of it. :mad:

Yes, and even if they are not illegal, they will draw attention from cops - which is very bad.
