My AC no longer gets cold on my 94 accord. Has anyone else had to deal w/ AC problems? If so, what are some issues, and are they costly? Over the past 2 summers my AC gradually did not get as cold, but I could get it re-charged and it would do good enough to get me through the summer. Now it does not get cold at all and I don't want to spend $100+ to re-charge it if it's not going to do any good. Seems to be totally out now.

I had the same issue. Several possibilities were looked into initially and we could not at all figure it out. It ended up that there was a short in the wire that we fixed but not my AC does not work on 4.

You've probably got a leak in the system, which would/could require new seals, etc. Finding the leak is the first part of the problem. I'm not sure how much it costs for new seals, but working on freon systems isn't exactly cheap these days....
For around $2-300 iirc you could probably upgrade to an R-134a system, but it may be cheaper to get the other one fixed and recharged.

more then likely needs and evaporator and the insulators...it's kinda of an expensive repair. but could be done with the right tools.

i rteally don't like the ac but the ev aporator seems to be a common problem on hondas. also in the winter time make sure you turn on the ac once in a while and that will keep it in good shape for the next year.

I dun use a A/C as much because I open a sunroof and windows down during the non-raining or the sunny weather. Only I put A/C during warm-up the car and cold weather.

I just got mine back from the shop 2 weeks ago for re-wiring headlight and fixing my A/C. Apparently I had a short in one of the relays or some shit and they recharged my freon. Have them quote you on electrical wiring for the A/C I forget but i think the total re-wiring of headlights and A/C was about $500 w/ labor. Its up to you I didn't have it for almost 2 years but in FL it gets pretty damn hot and when it rains you can't see shit.

I dun even ac as much only for cold weather or raining weather.
I use open sunroof for all the times, some 2 windows down for hotter weather, and 4 windows down for much hotter weather.
