View Full Version : ok-am I being unreasonable?

So, ok:

Today, I was a dumbass & locked my keys in my car at QT while getting gas. I know, I know...but force of habit, whenever I get out of my car, I just hit the lock button & shut it. Keys in hand, or in ignition:paranoid:

So, I call my friend who works at BestBuy & he's like "O ya-gimme 30 minutes, I'll be up there & help you." So, 30 minutes later-no sign of him, I call him back. He's like "O ya ya-got a lil caught up at work, I'll leave here in 5 & should be there in less than 20 mins." This is understandable. I wait 30 more minutes...no sign of him. So I call again... he's like "Ya, gosh I'm sorry, it's CRAZY around here." I'm like "Well, should I just call a service & ask them to come out & pay for it?" He says "No, no, no-I'll be there, just a bit longer"

Ok-TWO F:censored: ING HOURS GO BY AND HE FINALLY COMES TO HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:  :censored:
I was pissed, needless to say. I had NO PROBLEM about calling someone, but he made me wait for two hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, should I just be calm about this cuz he helped me for free? CUZ I'M NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, I'm asking b/c this guy (my friend) has tried to call me, and I didn't answer b/c if I did I'd f:censored: ing fly off the handle & just say something crazy & I don't want to do that.

When he FINALLY got my door unlocked I just smiled, said thank you, and drove off in a very fast way.

If you were willing to pay to get your keys out of your car dont b!tch about him being late because you waited for him. Once he was 30min late you should have called the pay service full stop end of story.

i wouldn't have waited that long.. if you were willing to pay for service...then u should have done that. i would have called him back and been like thanks anyway...ive already gotten help. take it or leave it...pay for service and get it right then or wait 2+ hours and get it for free. at least it was free....

Atleast he could have called and told you he was going to be late, but he did help you help you out for free....On another note. If you have full coverage insurance, won't they pay to unlock a car? I have free roadside assistance with mine.

Babyface, you are so cute!

As for the others...if he knew it was gonna be that long, he shoulda told me to call someone else. I asked after waiting an hour calmly if I should call for the help of a service. He just kept saying no, and I didn't want to call a service cuz my luck, they'd get there, and he'd take off work and come to help too, then he'd be mad at me:confused:

I'm still a bit irked about this...:paranoid:

And I don't have full coverage on it, only liability. No roadside.

pdiggitydogg
05-04-2003, 02:12 PM
I have no roadside either...but I keep a key in my wallet just for this reason. Once in high school I left the car running and got out to open the trunk for a friend (in the backseat). he gets out and locks and shuts the door...while the car is running. it was over an hr before someone came with an extra set of keys...now that was a bad day...
(just wanted to share)

GirlRacer
05-04-2003, 02:20 PM
haha! I've done that too! Once in highschool, I locked my keys in my car with the car RUNNING! It ran for like 2 hours while I was in class till my dad came with the extra key and unlocked it and left my key in the office for me. I'm such a tard sometimes!

maikoshi
05-04-2003, 02:20 PM
I get what you are saying about him.. if you say you're gonna help then do it, otherwise you could have just handled it yaself.

I left my keys in my car running before & just stood by it callin people on my cell forevah. All these guys kept trying to help me but they were just laaaaame and couldn't do a damn thing. I ended up breaking into my car myself with a lil tool thingy I borrowed from a cop cuz I'm broke like that. Looking back, why the hell did a cop let me break into a car? hahah. He didn't even question me about anything, he just let me do it. Ahhhh gotta love the cops sometimes.

LMAO - sidenote to 'baby face'- you dont have a f*ckin clue who this girl really is, STAY IN CALI, you've been warned.

As for locking your keys in your car, wow thats just as bad as leaving the house without clothing... both are retarded. You people shouldn't be allowed to drive if you cant get teh keys out before you close the door and lock it.

I totally think you are being unreasonable about this whole situation. Ok we all have "retarded" moments where we lock our keys in our cars or forget to turn off our head lights. We're human...we'll make these mistakes. But for you to be as pissed off as much as you make it out to be....that's pretty shitty. I'm sure I'd be a lil upset about having to sit, feeling totally retarded and stupid at a gas station for 2 hours...but you did it to yourself. It's fine that you called your friend to come help you...but you gotta keep in mind that he was at work. He works retail and so do I...I know what it is like tryin to get away even at the end of your shift on a weekend working retail...it's not that easy. If you were willing to call for a locksmith to come out and unlock your car for you, you should have done that to begin with. You know that those people are going to show up because they know that they are going to be getting your money. I'm all about gettin stuff done for free and I don't blame you for wanting to call a friend first...but after that first half hour, I would have called him back and told him that "I understand you're having difficulty gettin out of work to come help me out, I'll just call a locksmith so don't sweat it and I'll talk to you after work" or something along those lines.
Next time....don't let your "panties get all in a wad" and do what you know you should have done in the first place.

If you just realized this, not only education has failed you. No one really knows anyone. NO ONE! Each person always hold something back, even the smallest thing but still. I'm not giving his actions credit, I'm just telling you that you are FAR away from him and only talked on the net and you think you fully knew the guy? I was friends with him for the past two-three years (with a few exceptions) and I don't fully know him. What's up with people thinking they are best buds on the net nowadays? I mean, yeah I can say I talk with highlander and a few others alot. Yeah I can say I enjoy the convos. And yes I would be friends with them most likely if I moved there or if we lived close, but right now, I can't call them friends. I guess I should call them e-friends. Yeah, maybe that's more like it. But still, I recall you saying that I have no idea of the friendship or relationship you and rob have/had? WHAT RELATIONSHIP GIRL??? There was no relationship or friendship. It was nothing more than a few conversations online! Bah... I don't know why I'm still up even typing this. Goodnite...

said so nicely... you haven't seen nothing. But if you think you know the real rob, thats cool to bad you aint right but whatever. As for Dimitry knowing me, yea few people get to know me fully, I've become a little gaurded over there years, but please believe he knows me more then you'll ever know. I've covered his back more times then I can count, I call him a friend (though at times we have our differences, who doesnt?). But you Becky, dont know me nor did you even try to know me. So what you've seen isn't a fair judgement on my character. Just like I'm not judging your character.

If you're refering to the police convo (someone got shot) well woman a whole f*cking block blew up here last week and I know one of the people that died in the explosion. But I'm not here posting a thread about it, nor am I b!tching to anyone about it. Wanna know why? Cause thats life, people live, people die. 1 Death in 6billion isn't something to get all worked up about, and making a thread on the issue is a waste of time.

Cheers, dont anyone pretend like the know someone they haven't meet. Hell I've meet some people from this board and I dont know them, i know of them.

I've locked my keys in my car. And I am not a stupid person at all. I'm pretty busy and it always seems like if I am getting home or where ever that I am rushing to get the next thing done. I will have one shoe on and not realize it and the other shoe in my hand and I will go nuts looking for the other shoe (the one that I already put on). I put things down in the oddest places sometimes and then I can never seem to remember where I put them. I was showing someone the new grill that I got for my car yesterday and while doing that I put my phone down in a sneaker that was in my trunk.

Goodness, not me for cryin out loud! I'd lose my head if it weren't attached! The person who kinda lives here complains about me never making my bed... but to be honest... I don't think I've made my bed one time in my entire life...

and THAT is no joke!

Losing my keys is something I do on almost a daily basis. It comes from my dad. I have a $200 alarm for my car sitting in a box somewhere that my daddy lost but according to him... "It isn't lost, he knows right where it is... he just doesnt' know where THAT place is right now..."

I am an organized person. I have to be. I'm neurotic about my personal space. My cars. My desk. Everywhere. I can not have clutter. However, I am just shot sometimes. That does lead to the occasion where upon arriving home, instead of putting my keys on the counter, I will put them in the fridge while getting a bottle of water to take to the gym with me. That happened once. I don't have to make my bed right away or anything but if I am in my room hanging out, then I have to. Going to sleep in an unmade bed kinda is kinda shitty because the blankets are all crooked and whatnot and I just don't really get that "tucked in" feeling.

maikoshi
05-07-2003, 10:56 AM
I make my bed everyday before I leave.. I guess that's my parents fault. Damn them! I also have a tendency to clean up for people, do their laundry with out them asking, cooking for them... bleh. I'm so domesticated it's sad. :| But I really like to do it all... I dunno. They just have to appreciate it. Maybe I'm a freak.

msvtec14
05-07-2003, 01:37 PM
Maikoshi, that's funny because I am the same way in terms of cleaning up for people. For a good portion of my adolescent life my mom was in bed most of time time because she did not feel well. I ended up doing a good majority of the cleaning and etc in my house. It was just something that I got very used to. She is fine now but I still do a lot of things at my own will. And my brother is a lazy crap that just makes messes. Say I go to a friends house for drinks or something with other people... When it's time to leave not only do I pick up after myself but after everyone else as well.

I really think that everyone should have manners somewhat like this. The shitty thing is that about 1/2 of my friends don't because some of them are spoiled people. I throw a Memorial Day party at my house near the beach for 5 days. You'd think that in the mornings after all the havoc that they would at least help me out with most of it. Nope. I end up doing most of it.

my friends can be forgetful too, thats normally when I smack the back of their head and tell to pick up their shit. Some girls I've dated are even worse, they get into you bathroom and whip up a storm with their makeup and then leave. :pukey Powder all over the place, and their long hair on the floor so when i step out of the shower I get it all over my feet.

People have different standards and just because someone says they're neat, i've come to realize its not all the same 'neat' so be warned.

The bathroom topic...I can not stand a gross bathroom. I am always straightening my hair and whatnot so it's a given that my long hair will be all over the floor and the counter and everywhere. But I kid you not, I clean the bathroom every time I am finished using it. I'm talking spraying the counters down and everything. My brother on the hand is an absolute slob and shaves and leaves his hairs everywhere and his dirty football clothes everywhere. I just throw it all in his room. I hear you though...girls can be really vicious in the bathroom. Millions of bottles and stuff everywhere. If I hit some of my friends, they would probably get really upset and cry or something.

I know I'm not clean freak...I actually clean my room when it gets a bit too messy (papers book etc all over the desk)
But Imake my bed every morning pretty much, unless I'm late and have to run out. But my paretns taught me to do that so I do it now.
I think I'm somewhere in the middle though, I'm not a pig but I'm not a clean freak either..

I definitely wouldn't say that I'm a clean freak....and I wouldn't say that i'm completely organized either. There are certain things that I'm completly "anal" about. I put up an organized front but everything is just basically a mess. I hate cleaning my room...I'd rather clean my bathroom 5 million times before I clean my bedroom. I'm weird. But yah all my professors think I'm so organized because I have all my stuff in different colored folders and then I take notes in the same color pen as the folder for the class......:paranoid:
