I am running Windows Millenium edition(not by choice), it's on a Compaq 5000A system and when I try to play a movie file, I get the blue screen. I know it's because of a corrupted file, but how do I fix it?

Try reinstalling the program that plays the movie.

ME is the biggest abomination to the world of programming that has ever damned the earth with its presence.
Considering that you aren't running it by choice then you probably can't "get rid of ME" either......
Sooooooo, don't use the corrupted file.
Now when you say "corrupted file," are you referring to a corrupted file for the video player, OS, movie, etc????

ME is worse than the initial release of Win95.
Get XP on there now, don't waste your time. Crapaq would do something stupid like include ME with a machine.

A couple of hours and a good connection will get you windows xp for free. The cracked version is readily available on most p2p networks. Until microsoft starts charging a reasonable amount of money for their flawed, buggy product, I'll continue to burn copies. I'm sure someone will take exception to that, so go ahead.
Yeah, ME is such a joke. I was using 2k for a while, then I came across XP and it is so much better than any previous version. They finally have a full service media player cd burning program. zip file support is included, and damn its fast.

I agree that ME is a huge joke, but 2k is a strong OS. I actually bought my copy of it, and it does everything very well. XP is just 2k with a zillion services running and some minor kernel updates. And BTW, I own XP home also.
