Whats the real speed differemce between both?!

Since they both sell for the same price, and I'll be getting a MOBO that supports both, I'll go with the 333.. But not sure why.

Mostly its the fsb they will handle and the mb per second they are able to pass on...

and in real life, this translates into what type of gains?

actually i was running pc3200 corsair, when i benched it i got jusr under 3100 mbs, (my pc is overclocked) I just got back into playing bf 1942 and it loves memory so i stuck a 128mb of pc2100 in so i could have more ram, so no both stick run at the slowest speed between them, which is 2100. Now when i bench i get 2200 mbs...and i don't notice any differnce in anything i do

2700 will let you run higher FSB speeds. If you don't overclock to those speeds, you will see NO difference.

I wont be OCing, so I guess I could go either way..

Wait a second.. the MObo I'm getting has a Via KT400 chipset..
its capable of 333mhz FSB.. So wouldnt that mean that in fact I will benefit from it??

If you're running the KT400 (which I wouldn't.... I'd go with NForce2, though its not a big deal if you're not overclocking), and you are indeed running a 333 proc (166 FSB, newer AMD chips), you'll need the PC2700.

I'd like to get the best parts, but I dont even need a new computer.. its just something that got into me and doesnt want to get out.. Oh, and I'll give my Duron 800 to my bro who is currently suffering with P-100...

so Asus a7v8x, will probably be the board.. if you know anything cheaper that's equally good, please let me know!

for the processor, like I said even my 800 runs without a blink.. so I was thinking 1800 to 2000XP

and I'll probably go with 512ddr..

those damn music softwares are kinda heavy to run..

Well, you want a midrange processor, so I'd recommend the XP2100 for the price. Just dipped to the low $80s I think @ newegg. That board should be good, and I agree with the 512, I'd never go less than that.
