I have a 94 Civic EX, and a lot of times when I back up and cut the wheel (turn) this screeching/whining type noise comes from somewhere on my car. I think it's from somewhere in the back, but I am not certain. This sound has also happened once or twice when I made a sharp turn from one road to another. Anyone have any idea where this sound is coming from and how to fix it?

i'd first look at your steering system and then maybe your braking system.

yeah to me it almost sounds like worn pads or warpted rotors rubbing unevenly...
A good idea is get someone so stand outside with you and you back around for awhile...they could tell you where the sound is really coming from...

We need more info...

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to find out exactly where the sound is coming from sometime this weekend.

Check your cv Joints too. Maybe it could be a rubbber joint that needs lubrication.
