Well after 2 years of spending too much money trying to make my DSM work right I've finally decided to sell it and buy me an Honda Civic. The only problem is that I'm not familiar with Civics. Can someone please help which which car to buy? What year, model and the max price for each. I don't want to do the same thing I did with the Laser I bought. I bought it for way more than it was worth so maybe y'all can help me.

5th gen hatch (92-95)...you can get one super cheap and they're very light (the Si one has moonroof and power stuff unlike the dx)
If you can get a 6th gen dx (96-00) for cheap do that, but they still dont have pwr windows (i dont know about locks either) but you can easily swap the door panels from an EX or Si that had power stuff
it doesnt matter what kind of miles are on the engine as long as the body is in good shape...swap the crappy engine for a b18c1 (integra gsr) and then turbo the sucker...you'll be rollin pretty damn fast...just keep the rice off it;)
get some koni yellows and some decent springs to mach and you'll be good

So what y'all are saying is that I should buy a 92-95 Hatch and then later on do the motor swap, right?. Well about how much is cheap?? (I'm kinda of short on money).

you can find a decent 5th gen for like under $5K (remember that miles dont count as long as it runs well/long enough for you to get the new engine (Since hondas are so reliable if the last owner took decent care of the car, the original motor should go longer than 200K miles)...and the swap should cost you like $3-4K depending on where you buy it (be sure to get a complete swap that has shift linkage, mounts, and axles for the new motor) I recommend www.JDMhondaparts.com because of their complete kits and highly rated service (Im getting my b18c1 from them)

WOO HOO, BROS!!! Brilliant ppl think alike! 5th gen CiViC with a H22A swap (my take)! That's pure Valhalla...
'92-'95 Honda CiViC was THE one to have. THAT was the generation to end all generations. Honda will never make another batch of cars like those!
