well, my friend's mom backed into my car the other nite and it has over $3600 in damage. so you guys know how AWFUL MY F**KING LUCK IS. so that did it for me, i'm sick of this gay car. IT's Slow as hell and that put me over the edge. i don't need this bs, especially for a car i never liked that much from the start. you know... i'm sick of this car performance wise and it really isnt good on gas. 14.2 stock my ass.... i dunno about you guys but do you think it hits 60 in 5.4 seconds... i sure don't. and to get near that you need to burn the #@%#@%#@%#@% outta the clutch. also no one wants to race you on a back road... because it's just plain stupid and even more dangerous than racing in a straight line from a stop light or roll on the highway. this car would get it's asssss handed to it by ANY camaro or mustang with the most simple bolt ons. even from a dead stop... i dropped this thing at 5k and had very nice launches.... but even my cobra could take this thing from a dead stop and once i hit 2nd gear in the cobra, i'd be long gone. i thought this car was gonna be fun and it was, but it does get boring. when you know you gotta beat people the #@%#@%#@%#@%#@% way. i dont want to be the kid with the excuse, "you have 4 more pistons than me" or "yea u win a straight line? but can you beat me on a back road?". that's stupid. and yes, i have not even made my first payment yet, but you know what, I'm selling this car. DEFINITLY. it handles awesome but has NO POWER. and look how much the mods cost. damn. and look at the results. unless you are willing to spend $20k, you will be stuck in the 12's forever. a N/A v8 can hit 12's with bolt-ons. I am going to buy another 96-98 cobra and hopefully supercharge it right away and it would run mid 11's without anything else done. all i see is mustangs everywhere and it pisses me off cuz i want my old car back. i kinda forced myself into liking this car because it was safe and not bad for a 4 cylinder. i've always been about domestic cars and now i know why. at least i gave imports a chance and was open-minded... but still i DO NOT KNOW WHY people want to make a 4 cylinder fast. it just too damn much. the only thing the car has is handling, which gets race enthusiasts into even more dangerous situations by trying to manage turns at high speeds. it's plain stupid. If you like Auto-X, then whatever, that's your thing. but that is basically the only thing you can do with this car. as a daily driver though... it woudl be a close 1st choice. i do like the car, it's just not ME AT ALL. all my fiends tell me i dont look right driving it. i miss the torque, the sound, the power and the adrenaline rush a v8 gives you. all you import ppl are seriously missing out.
btw- it is for sale for $23500. has just under 14000 miles and a couple mods, tints, carbon fiber interior, warranty, lowered. very nice car- just not my style.

Well, there's driving and there's driving. Guess you prefer the former.
Good luck getting 23500 for it.

I could have told you that you weren't going to like the WRX. That car is soo over rated, I think you just picked the wrong import.
I'm with you on the v8, there is nothing like the power of a N/A v8. A turbo/supercharged 4 just doesn't compared, and there isn't too many sporty v8 imports out there.

Just out of curiosity, have you taken it to the track and raced it a bunch to verify that it doesn't hit 5.4 in 0-60 or run 14.2 in the 1/4?
I only ask because how a car feels and how a car is are two different things. Now if you race a stock Mustang GT in a stock WRX the race should be pretty decent. The WRX will nail the launch but eventually the GT will overtake it, I believe.
Anyhow, sorry you didn't like it. There are other imports but a boxer 4 or I4 will never reach the same level as a V8, there's no arguing that. Whatever floats your boat man.
I like corners more than raw acceleration......which is good, cuz I get no acceleration out of my car.

nah the 96 is long gone..... well the kid in the golf started racing before i knew we were... but it took me till the middle of 4th gear to pass him after downshifting to 3rd. i felt ashamed beating him by so little. i passed and left a good 5 car lengths between us and the margain coudl have grown if there wasn't traffic ahead. all i know is that the cobra would have left him standing still and seem like he was going in reverse.

it has potential.... for a huge price though. a single turbo 4 cyl will not match up against the skyline in the end, just like civic will never beat a corvette (both given the chance for any modification under the sun).
this is a whole new arguement though.... that i don't need to get involved in :bandit:

dude i love my subaru wrx, well my moms! its fun as hell... it aint too slow, me and my friends are all used to 135HP so its a nice jump up, i got my damn 135 HP 6cyl firebird, 135 HP 4 cyl Honda, then the 1965 Buick Electra 455 big block ( well thats just kick ass but still no traction). then the Subaru 220 HP or something like that... how much do you need, damn u dont wanna kill someone;) im just used to not having straight aways out here in the sticks

170hp pulling 2500 lbs loses to 350hp pulling 3200 lbs fool
try motor work and turbo.
sorry to jump like that but thats a very vague statement and out of place.
the one with the convertible red c5 vette right with 2 people in the vette? and it shows the vette prestaging?

WRX ARE good, if ya wanna make it as fast as a cobra, ya gotta get serious with it, and do some serious mods, like some turbo mods, and port and polish, buy new everything...it will be fast...dont' sell....be well rounded muh man...have yur cobra, and your import. ;) good karma... lol

heres the rundown, a b18c in a civic hatch is the same as a corvette c5 with a z06 motor thrown in (a production motor in a higher class car) so therefore SVT cobra's saying is still true
both given the chance for the same modifications the vette wins,
let alone a N/A gsr motor will never take a 12 second capable c5 vette given similiar drivers as long as its still 1.8L cams head and intake manifold will prolly net a high 13 run at best.
the only way new 4 cylinders catches up to new v8's is DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR, cause even then a new si would SMOKE a mustang or vette.
BUT then again my mustang would smoke you both, and then you could always buy a 11 second car somewhere for 3 grand, and on down the line..

SVT,
Keep in mind the WRX isnt built for drag racing, if thats what you want, then get another V8.
I do recall you saying, "Im not responsible enough to own another fast car like the cobra" Just remember that when you buy another Firebird or Cobra and get behind the wheel. Just hope you dont have to get lucky like you did the first time.

You don't know what that guy had in his Golf.
It's like saying "I'm gonna buy a Civic cuz I was driving my Z06 and was beat by a Civic in a dragrace."
Anyhoo, if you don't like it then you don't like it, so I say get what makes you happy and enjoy. Just be safe.

Hmm, maybe now I should stay away from a car like that down the road when it's time to look for a daily driver, not that I'd have $20k+ to drop on a car though lol. I myself am considering a 2G DSM down the road, but I also know that car is a pig without a bigger turbo and lots of mods that I might not get around to doing.............I love the nice sound of a cammed V8 and the looks of my car, I still wonder what I will think when I get rid of my car..... I will need a daily driver soon. I wonder how much insurance will rape me if I got a '98 LS1 fbody for $12,000 ;) Hmmmm......Got to start saving now...........;( Good luck on your next choice man, your luck is going to $hit dude. :( I wanted to run the WRX when I was home, doh. I never got around to it.

Why do you want to get rid of the TA? Cant you keep it and buy a cheap daily driver?
The older 6.6L TAs are cool...
