View Full Version : Do you honestly care what Hollywood thinks?

Over the past month or two I've seen a lot of Hollywood types (actors and whatnot) speaking up about the possibilities of war and mainly against it. Now, I'm not pro or anti war...I simply see it as an inevitability because we live in a world where violence begets violence whether it's just or not. My question is, do you really give a f*ck what George Clooney thinks about war? These people make a living out of being bullshit artists...that's what actors do. Now we're supposed to respect their opinions and take them to heart as some sort of mores or ideals that have real meaning? There's been a ton of media coverage on these societal maggots but no one seems to be paying any attention to them (especially the president...he doesn't seem to be paying attention to anyone). So let's hear it...can Michael Bolton really change your views about an impending war or is it just a bunch of bullshit lip service for the sole purpose of bettering their careers?

i honestly dont care that they are anti-war. i know they have a voice and im glad they are using it anti-war instead of pro-war but at the end of the day, it wouldnt really change the way i slept no matter what they said

not especially, they are just using what they can do with their voice. If I were in that position I can't honestly say i woulden't be doing any different.

I dont care what they have to say. Their life is made being fake, so why should we respect them when they try to be "real"? They get more publicity being anti-war, and it is a popular opinion to take these days. I would like to see one actor actually talk about WHY they are anti-war, using real-world reasons instead of to not cause conflict etc etc...

i really don't care what they say. as chris said they don't have their life on the line, they have everything they need, they don't have to worry for tomorrow, they didn't live under a dictatorship to know what's like. i think i'm done ranting now, btw i'm not pro or against war cause i know my voice won't make a difference anyways

The actors use their spotlight to campaign against war with no real proof, Bush uses his spotlight to campaign for war with no real proof. The difference is that actors get paid more and don't have a vindetta, they probably think more logically with a level head.

Here's an article for you all.

"I'm asking them to present Best Animated Feature," he told the Chicago Tribune. "I'm not asking them to talk about anything else other than that, and if they wanted to talk about anything else, I wouldn't ask them to present the award." -Good for this guy!!!
