well, they aren't actually motors I guess, but whatever.

is it possible for the DIY'er to replace these, or can only certified techs do it? Cuase ive been looking at them, and those bastards are bolted down hardcore. for good reason obviously, but my retractor is so worn out that people keep assuming they are ridiing in a new car and just slam the door on the seat belt...its causing me interior damage!

i never looked at them, but you should be able to take them out. it's a 17mm wrench if i'm not mistaken

really? hmm...maybe i was looking at the wrong thing. You probably saved me some money!

Do you know, is there any way to crack it open and fix it so it'll retract like it did the day it rolled off the lot? cause I imagine the only only civic at the junkyard's seat belt thing is wore out too..

i would look for the seatbelt not to be twisted inside the pillar liner. that will make it act like that, or a spring from the retractor jumped off.

interesting...I'll definatly check that, because its entirely possible. now if there was only some warmer weather....

I'm doing that this thursday. getting a few other things changed, fixed as well. too cold to do more than drive and input fuel.
