I use an SSH program that will show hidden files and also allow them to be deleted. Its called SSH secure shell... I don't have the install file, but its free for students if you can find it.

Get it taken care of?

The reason you can't DELETE is because you actually need to either A) delete all the files first(which you knew) or B) perform a recursive delete. Most advanced FTP progs have this feature. Look for LeechFTP on Downloads.com.

You can delete from the command line (even via FTP) but if you don't have ls access you need to know the filenames. If the site admin set up so you can't get or rm files you don't know the names to, you need their help to rm.
