A new business was opening and one of the owner's friends wanted to send him flowers for the occasion. They arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card,.... "Rest in Peace."

The owner was angry and called the florist to complain.

After he had told the florist of the obvious mistake and how angry he was, the florist replied, "Sir, I'm really sorry for the mistake, but rather than getting angry, you should imagine this: somewhere, there is a funeral taking place today, and they have flowers with a note saying,... 'Congratulations on your new location!'"

umm something along those lines (sorta) actually happened to me.

i was looking for somethin for mothers day.. and i saw this pretty glass rose, and since my mom loves roses i thought yup this is perfect. anyway they gift wrap it there and when my mom unwraps it on mothers day.. all on the box it's talkin bout how it's a memorial rose for the departed and there was this long ass sappy RIP type poem on the inside. bleh. no where in the display did it say it was *that* kind of rose. i guess leaving while they wrapped it was kinda a bad idea too. :crazy:

oh wow...that sounds like something that would happen to me!!! :yes: but I know Mom and I would get a good laugh out of it. I wouldn't hear the end of it though.

i haven't heard the end of it yet and it was a few years ago. the really bad part is, my mom has some serious broken english goin' on so trying to explain to her that you don't want her to die, etc etc. doesn't really work too well because she doesn't get anything.

her: so you think i die?
me: no i know yer not dying
her: so you think a funeral now!!
me: um... no mom

and the cycle of her not getting it continues.
