**** PETA (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030228/ap_on_re_us/peta_holocaust_display_3)
Well...they've done it again. The wannabe hippie morons at PETA have once again stepped in some shit they won't be able to get off of their shoes. In their never-ending quest to find the single most idiotic expression of one's beliefs, they've recently released a campaign that compares photos of Jewish concentration camp prisoners along side photos of cows and chickens. Perhaps it didn't occur to these folks that the genocide of 6 million people might be a bit of a touchy subject. Now, I'm not Jewish...but I've visited Dachau and Auschwitz and these people (PETA) even managed to piss me off. I can't imagine how the majority of Jews will feel when they see that. I love animals too but for shit's sake COWS AND CHICKENS TASTE GOOD! And, in a hilariously ironic twist, the kosher (jewish) killing of a cow is probably the most inhumane way to do so short of bullfighting (which is done more for sport than meat). My thoughts were that if you want to appeal a bit more to the jewish community, why not put up a bunch of pictures of pigs instead of animals they actually eat? I think people join PETA for the same reason kids still protest at UC Berkley...they hear their parents talk about what they did as kids and will cling to anything, no matter how ridiculous, that they see as an act of rebellion. It's cool if you wanna be a vegetarian...that's your deal. But these people seem to think they're important enough to tell me what to eat. Apparently they're also willing to piss millions of people off to do it. Maybe they've got a lack of protein from not eating meat that makes them act crazy. Maybe all they need is a nice steak or a burger that's not made of soy. Fu(k 'em all...they receive the prestigious one fingered wave.
