hey guys. i just recently got a really good job, making alot of cheese (money). at the moment i do not have a car, and im depending on really good friends to give me rides to work. i sat down the other night looking at my bills and my income, and relized getting a loan for a car is in my near future. now my question is do i get another civic, fix it up, like everyone else is doing. its not uncommon today for someone to drop a b16 in their civic. Or do i look for something else? i know chris is looking an 240sx and my friend was looking at a toyota tocoma. i think all of us here has a soft spot for honda, its just something about them. i would love to get a 93 hatchback, drop a H22 and upgrade the F out of it, but it seems like everyone else is doing that. i dont know guys... wuts your opion in this matter. thanks :)

a built 240 will be fast, maybe a 300zxTT or something like that. theres tons of possibilitys. you could get a ae86 and drop a s2k engine in it ;)

the problem with hondas, is your limited on the engines you can put in. i know someone dropping a lt1 in a 240sx. ive seen sr20det's in ae86's, 13b(3rd gen rx7) motors in 240's and supras. corollas(ae86's) have had EVERYTHING in them. from sr20's to f20c's to 20b(triple rotor) engines. what do you want from the car? pat, i know you see whats around here, and there are TOO MANY civics. preludes are less common, but they are still around

those are VERY VERY awsome cars. they handle better than you could imagine, and the 91-96ish(??) turbos are simply awsome cars.. i saw one with 500hp(503rwhp i think) and it BUCKED

Or get something new and do whatever you want to it. It all depends on how you want to spend your money. I like to keep my cars fairly new.

Good luck.

i wouldent go with a civic, get something less common depending on your income, which i dont know what it is. You might be able to get something high dollar like a supra or an RX7. But ive even seen in a magazine where someone modded a saturn to about 400hp. So it just depends on where you wanna go. What i think would be best for your money right now is a talon turbo. Those things will run super fast stock. It can probly run a 13 with just a few bolt-ons. But it all depends on your personal preference.

Do you have a dollar figure in mind of what you might want to spend?

What do you want in a car? Drag racing? Balls to the wall power? Handling? Combination? Price range? Define "lots of $ to spend". What are your tastes? I hate Honda myself, and I think the sound of farting in a jar blows, but if you like 4 bangers, the new WRX Sti's are great vehicles. Ls1 fbodies are cheap balls to the wall speed; you can pick some up for about 12k with low miles. Bolt ons will net a solid 12 second car. You can make it handle well easily as well with basic suspension parts. Want a project? 80s RX7 V8 swap. Some vendors make kits for them. Old school Datsun Z with 350 small block, or whatever you can fit in there. What I myself would like to do down the road is get a beater car for everyday driving, and a "toy" to work on for the side......any project you wish. A sleeper civic wouldn't be bad. Who cares if "a lot" of people are doing it. Hell, all I see on the streets is rice anyways, slowass cars for the most part. A swap might not be that common, depending what you choose or what you want to put it in.

there are alot of swaps in our area(orlando, oviedo is right next to it) but they are tough on street racing, we have a track 15 mins away. i would also love an old Z to swap a big block in.
