Now this is a dumb question, but I am going to ask. What do you run in the crx manual tranny as far as fluid. The chilton manual says to run 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil. I have heard not to run motor oil becouse its does not have the same additives as oil did when the tranny was made. I have been told to run honda MTL. My car makes a lot of power so I want to put the best fluid in the tranny. I asked the dealer and he said he had never heard of running MTL in the older trannys. I have been running mobil 1 synth 10w30 in the tranny and havent had any problems to speek of accept a quiet whine in third gear,it shifts good also. So should I try the MTL?

I would go with whats working until you have problems...you could also try some high performance stuff like redline, bg, etc..

If you want the best manual tranny fluid, go with Red Line MTL or Red Line MT-90. I use MTL in the winter and MT-90 in the summer. If you want to read about them:http://www.redlineoil.com/redlineoil/mtlti.htm
