I think most of the higher end video cards include a tv tuner. Or you could just buy a TV tuner card. There was an old one running around years ago called the WinTV tuner card. I'm sure there is much better stuff now.

Just buy a capture/tv tuner card. They don't go for much these days, but get a decent quality (price) one.

when your in college, and dont have alot of room, you'll see that a 17' monitor isnt that bad.

I have been doing that and vice versus for 4-5 years now.... it's the way to go.. I would suggest getting ANY all-in-wonder card. this allows you to go in or out and they're good cards on they're own. the only downside would be if you have some nasty video card already.... but if you don't get a radeon all in wonder agp yo... i have the pci 128 the don't even sell it anymore I don't think. but I'd definatly stay with ATI and the "all in wonder" family.

i have a g-force4 64mb agp card, with the TV output(not input). i'll go to best buy or something and look at what they have i guess.

Yeah, go to best buy and then haul ass back to your computer, order from newegg, and save lots of money.

Skip Best Buy and CompUSA and all those places. Read some reviews on cnet.com and in PC Magazine (pcmag.com?). Use that to help you decide. Also, the people at PC Connection are very knowledgeable about things, and can answer your questions about products they carry.

Just my 2 cents.

best way BY FAR is a tv card.

this way you aren't stuck with it on your video card. what happens when you decide to upgrade your video card??? you lose your tv as well. with a tv card (cheap cheap) you aren't locked to the video card.

Looks like you'll need another NIC (only like $10 for a 10/100). But that should set you up. You can even record TV with this mother f'er. And it comes with a remote. Hope this helps you out at all Chris...
