Ok, so today I took some gift cards from christmas to Best Buy to get a game, and opted for Command&Conquer Generals over BF1942 because I love C&C games and this one looks awesome... anyways I load it onto my computer no problem, but when I run the game, even in low resolution and bad image quality mode I CAN NOT see any units or buildings... this is pissing me off because I cant return the game either because they will think I just burned it... so what to do, I emailed EA Games tech support but thought I might ask here as well... thanks
PS- it requires .8GHZ, 1.8GB HD, 128MB RAM, 32MB video, etc
I have 1GHZ, 140GB HD, 384MB RAM, and 32MB ATI video
I might just use this as an excuse to buy myself a good college cpu for next year and get a fully decked out one... anybody have a solution that would allow me to procrastinate this purchase?

how is your ati card ? that's the problem. if it's an older card the drivers blow on older models. go download the latest drivers and the latest direct x.

all ideas point at video card. update drivers... see if that helps

Well get the latest drivers for your vid and sound cards.
Now, C&CG recommends a 1.8GHz proc. for best performance, and I think your system might be a little sub par. That doesn't explain graphics not appearing though.

just for reference, anytime you want to buy a game buy it at Electronics Boutique. I used to work there and their policy was you had a week where you could return the product, open or not. When I asked my manager why they allow possible burning of software, he shrugged it off because I guess the company figures the amount of people that actually do that is less than the amount of potential satisfied customers trying to legitly return. makes sense.
I've done it once, but they only allow you to do it once (meaning one exchange.)
