ok so when i re-installed Win XGAY my computer added windows messenger service or some BS and it's really annoying...they say this program http://www.defeatpopups.com/ will get rid of it...that's the same type of box that comes up on my ocmputer....anyone know how to get rid of this without have to get software? i've tried ad-aware 6.0 and no luck...help

start->settings->control panel->administrative shit->services
when that screen pops up look for winblows messenger and right click on it->properties and change from autmatic to disabled. that gotta take care of it

did you read the thread I linked to? If you disable the service, it will not work. Try renaming the folder like it says in the link.

reboot your computer. Then navigate to the folder called "messenger". Rename to something like "messengerOLD" or something similar. Then delete that folder.
Should take care of it.

i did the messenger rename thing and i still get "messenger service" pop-ups!!! Please help me!!!

start->settings->control panel->administrative shit->services
then look for the messenger service on the list right click on it and from the drop down list hit select disabled, then click ok

it doesnt give disable as an option, it gives stop though.

You should be able to disable Messenger service after you stop it. I run Win2k Pro and that's what I had to do to stop those annoying ads exploiting the Messenger Service.

i just deleted messenger
