what the hell, i just got a new computer like 6 months ago, its a and athlon xp 2100, with a asusa7v266e board with 786 megs of ddr and a geforce4 ti4200.

and running the benchmark all the test are really freakin slow and my score was only 1230

try and download and run it on your computer to see if its fast enough for the upcoming games.

Its partially due to the fact that you have a DX8 card. I'm not going to try it until I get a new card (I have a 4200 also)...

www.overclockers.com forum has lots of stuff about this.

3dmark03 was written for ATI. there's no denying it.

Futuremark can say all the BS they want about ps1.4 being the most efficient dx8.1 pixel shader but as a gaming benchmark you should use the pixel shaders the majority of games are using.

currently i think the list of ps1.4 games you can count on your two hands.

3dmark03 is a farce. granted its supposed to be a dx9 test which in dx9 video cards are spec'd to include all previous pixel shaders including 1.4 so the test is somewhat justified.

however.. how could they not know this was going to be a big mess? they act like nvidia's claims against them are a surprise.

lol. what a mess. soon as the fx comes out it will die down a bit, but until then we will get to read this BS every day.

Umm that's scary. Just built a p4 2.4, 1gb ram, g4 ti4200 system and it tested 14000. You should you put that number in right?

Yeah, they REALLY cut the scores this time. Seems like 5k with a 9700 pro is a good score.

I got a score of 186 on my GeForce2 Go (32meg DDR, laptop..)lool. I don't see how a program could be considered a "benchmark" when it is in favor of one over another.

Benchmark scores can't be trusted. There are so many ways to get the results you want to see.

The only true test of performance that anyone should care about is how well it runs the software that he/she runs, plain and simple.

That's very true, but you know that people build machines (like Alienware's dual video card comp) simply for benchmarking results.

i don't think its geard more toward ati. I think it has more to do with that ati is able to work with direct x 9 a little better as oppesed to nvidas current cards not really working with direct x 9 at all
