So yah...people always ask me what my aol/yahoo screen name means which is Kenike80/Kenike21....and Kenike is my name in Hawaiian. So, I thought I'd post a link so that y'all can find out what you're name is in Hawaiian.
 Find out your Hawaiian name (http://www.hisurf.com/hawaiian/babynames/)

Post your results! (oh and sorry if you have some "weird" name...I can't control which they have words for and which they don't. There is only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet...so they can only do so much.)

Apparently my name is Kiwini. But that website is total crap. There's no way you can translate names in a language like Hawaiin which is a native language into a germanic-latin based language like english. That's like saying the Arab name Ahmed is "Paul" in English (someone actually told me that once).

actually..... Your wrong, there are SOME arabic names that translate into 'english' type names...

Such as
Jesus- Isa
John- Yahya
Jacob- Yaqub
Abraham- Ibrahim
eve- Huwwa
Mary- Maryam
Joseph- Yusuf
Noah- Nuh
Moses- Musa

Pretty much every prophet, or relative is mentioned in arabic in the Quran(islamic holy book).....Paul was not a prophet, so no i dont think there is a name for it....But ahmed basically means 'praiseworthy'... Anyways peace

Well...that's based on english translations on texts written in an entirely different language that is neither germanic nor latin in nature so any correlation is purely speculative. Yes, they do bare a certain resembelance but that's all. But that's a bit off topic.

the Hawaiian language isn't a masculine language. So yah the names are gonna sound girly...they only have 12 letters...not too much to work with ya know. And most of the names were derived from English to Hawaiian. It's not like someone say named Kenike decided to say her name was Denise(in english) one day. They 12 letters correspond with the 26 letters of the English alphabet. This is why not all the names in the world have a translation.
