Sensor mod! To good to be true?

Ok, i realize i have a domestic but has anyone done the iat sensor mod on a honda? You guys do have a air intake sensor dont you? They claim 10-15 HP gains w/ this little trick. The people that have done it to there cars have had great results. But, the people that have not done it or have heard bad things from doing it dont agree with this mod. Oh, this is a cheap way to do the same thing as a chip does to your car. The ignition will be 2-3 degrees advanced and the car will be giving the motor a little more gas to compensate the ignition advancement.

yes its really big right now. You can even find people selling it over ebay!!

yeah i've heard of it. it makes the ecu think it receives colder air so it advances the timing. why not just advance your ignition timing ? I have about 6 degrees of advance on my car and the engine doesn't knock even when it's 10 degrees outside, no power gains and it burns gas like a mother focker. 19mpg as of now :crazy:

Well, Ford made it impossible to do any kind of timing adjustments unless you chip it, so we found another way around it. You may want to adjust your fuel if you are adjusting your timing, if your not getting hp gains. Its very criticle that you do that w/ a air/fuel meter while doing the fuel adjustments. Dont want to detonate that motor at high rpm's!!! Trust me ive seen some goof-ups by not adjusting the fuel while messing w/ your timing.:yes:
