Well....I haven't stopped thinking about this shop idea. And I'm going to test the waters locally and online. I think I can pull through....I'm just a kid trying to deal with stuff he likes to be involved with and not some big corporation trying to make the most money as possible. I'll do what it takes to beat the other prices....and just deal with people that like the same thing as me.
The only problem is I cant think of a name....I don't want it to include import...cause I don't want to push away business from people w/o them who I can still supply.

Give me ideas.....if I use your name.....you get the first deal lol...
If this happens and I get to the point online business flowin may eventually think of posting some rides....that could get HS members a deal or so?

well opening up a business is a long process. First of all i reccomend you incorporate if u wanna grow bigger later on (you know credits and stuff) then as you get your federal EIN number you go to your local county auditor and get a vendor license(mine was $25 and the incorporation was around $570). then you can sell. as for the name go with something that reflects you business activity. i will be dealing with suspension, body kits, and the regular bolt ons for the engine so rob sugested that i use styld right motorsport, and i just corected the spelling (time for skool rob jfwy). anyway go with a name like performance unlimited, or unlimited performance and styling. if u need anymore hel email me.

Do you have quality techs/mechanics to work for you if this goes through? That should be your biggest concern. You don't want them getting stumped when they try to install a CAI :D

Well, if a shop here locally got going and it really took off...i was thinking of adding some kind of service to the place. Off the bat though I don't want to bother with it....just want to see how good I can push parts....I mean the day someone comes and somethin doesnt get installed correctly.....shitass ya know...

There's somethin about unlimited performance.....it just seems like i need a lil somethin more on it? not sure though.

Dam....this is just bugging the hell outta me...I want to think of it today....and go apply for my license and get down to making my plan of attack? I've talked to some good distributors and I'm just sittin around for the last month. Life's been hell last month being in two accidents.....one resulting in my injuries now....and another resulting in my '00 Civic being totalled.
Guys mind listing some sites you look at when you order parts.....Only way I can help others is buy taking a good look at the competition.

sorry, can't really help too much with graphic design; my web design days are over. My only advice is keep it simple, keep it small, keep it fast, keep it functional. I personally don't see the need for too many graphics. A catchy logo graphic and well cropped photos of product is all you really need.

If you need a logo pic designed, might I suggest calling upon the talents of the geek forum(seriously)?

My father and I are really stuck on something like Unlimited Performance and Style.....I don't want to sell myself out to Imports or this and that....I can't take business from a kid if he wants a big tin muffler...i'm the one that will get it....rather me than autozone......I appreciate everything from all of you.....
As for the site.....I just want some good clean integrated formats....nothing to high tech....i can run the site it's just I'm lookin for something...not sure how to explain it.....maybe i'll ask for a pics of some of ya'lls car to use on the site.....I won't hesitate to give any good friends the price they deserve. This will be a journey for me....but i have local friends askin me about prices and it just amazes me at how much discount I could give'em and still feel comfortable with a few bucks profit...i don't wanna be on MTV cribs off this little business....but I do want something good to come outta it....if it's that I give HS members a deal and they feel good about their cars so be it.
Any ideas or suggestions.....names, website, etc are welcomed

if they install nitrous on your car, and your engine blows.. your ****ed, if they install an intake, and it comes off... theyll fix it for free etc

I was thinking about that name last night, Zemotorsports, and was thinking "Is Ze an element of the periodic table?" Just checked, and its not, so a logo could involve like Ze in a box like in a periodic table, and motorsports somewhere close to it. you phone number could be the atomic number, etc. I'd make a prototype, but I have no time right now. just an idea.

That periodic table shit is crazy...good idea you make a prototype post it up....good idea...some other people I've been talkin to kinda said stay away from the unlimited cause I'll feel like an ass when I can't get that one product....not that I want to think I couldn't get it....but yea never know. In the beginning I'm going to try to stay away from doing installs....maybe get some partnerships and refer this or that local business for kits and painting or whatev. I'm going to try to learn a lot....by doin my swap of engine and everything....

good luck with your venture. The only advise i can give you is look into everything carefully. You will have to find parts at good prices and the best way to get good prices is to buy in volume. Which is essentially a buy in. Check your buy ins, some manufactures ask for crazy prices esspecially if you try and get in with the big boys like Keystone. Last time we checked i think they wanted like 25k just to deal with them.

nice prototype....good idea....just i don't know....my buddy is workin on some stuff for me too...i can visualize the website....very plain and bold....nice graphic letterhead thingy on top....just a nice reliable fast site.....with good prices..i look at other sotres for around the state here...and i am amazed at prices and what i'll be able to offer i hope.

yeah I dont know about the whole atom thing, I was just screwing around. Although I thought my little slogan was a good way to incorporate unlimited (the unlimited element in performance).

I was just thinking that you may want to keep to use something like "performance parts" instead of just "performace" so as not to imply that you do any installations or anything, youre just a dealer.

See what your buddy can do with the element design, if hes good with photoshop, he could prolly create something much better.

When it comes down to it, post a poll, and see what peopel like better when it comes to a name.
