Is anyone else sick and tired of people bitching about the price of gas going up? Right now i spend anywhere from $40-90/week on gas, rememeber thats canadian and i buy in letres. I typically get the 92oc or 94 if available and it really doesn't seems to increase the price much for a full tank more then say getting the 89oc. I've never filled my machine on the cheapest (87oc) stuff because my car runs like shit on it, but if i wanted to save more money I could - by using cheaper gas.

Now here is where i'm getting sick of people bitching. Everyone wants to drive, ruin the enviorment, clog the streets and be involved in lots of road rage. But one thing they dont want to do is pay much to do all that and most of them are running on the cheap shit.

These are the same people that move AWAY from where they work to get a bigger house for less money, the same people who drive an hour a day to and from work, the same people who think that they are better off driving then finding a better way to live the life style they want closer to where they spend most of their lives. I wonder if they realized if they bought a smaller house closer to work/city they might be better off?

I happen not to NEED to drive to go about my daily life, but recently I've taken a job that does require about 5 hours/week of driving and to be frank its getting old and fast. I find myself racking up the miles on my car which has only 50k miles and its a 1997. The ONE thing i've never complained about is the gas price, when will people understand that complaining about the cost of driving is like bitching that they have to pay to eat. Heck with the American way of living a car is like an extension of yourself. Yet to have to pay a bit more for it and we've got ourselves a bunch of people bitching. Is the price of gas more important then the price you pay for your time behide the wheel?

Please dont tell me I'm the only driver out there sick and tired of people bitching about the cost of gas....

rob's vent for the week

you know why this is..... these people who are bitching have never been anywhere else in the world where you actually have to pay for gas... in other parts of the world, you have to pay $1 and more per litre..... those people might have the right to complain because in some countries the level of income is much lower... and they still have to pay high gas prices..... people here for the most part are spoiled ****s

well...technically...you ARE bitching about gas prices going up...but why worry about it...let people do what they do...complain what they want to complain about...
And 50k on a 97 isn't that much...my mom's got just about 80k on her 2000 sienna.
And if you're really worried about it...don't drive as much...
buy a little beater to get you to and from work...

yah I hate payin for the gas just as much as the next person....but I know I have to do it. And I HAVE to drive everyday...there is no way of getting around it for me.

Oh and as for the not pumping your own gas thing and it being illegal NJ and NY are the same way (so I'm told). Which I never knew and I live in PA:crazy: . Yah once I found out about that, I never really could understand the meaning behind it....maybe people trying to steal gas or something (preventing that if it's a full service station). I always wondered why the Jersey folk that are chillin in PA get pissed when they gotta pump their own.

i don't mind payin' for gas as long as its within the reasonable price range...and right now it isn't in the reasonable range..i mean now the price of a 87 oc gas was the price of 93 oc two weeks ago..i guess its like payin' premium but you get crap 87...

yeah prices are going up. and other countries you do not have to drive 1 hour on the higway to drive to work. the countries with higher gas prices are a lot smaller and if u drive more than 2 hrs 1 way it means you spend the night there. also the public transportation is a lot better in other countries than here.

You have it going pretty well except for a few flaws as I see it.
The major one is that you are saying that people want to ruin the enviroment but don't want to pay for it. I would understand your point loud and clear if the money went BACK into the enviroment. But instead, where does it go to, oil companies and gas stations, and a portion goes away as tax. There are some gas companies like Shell who claim they do something for the enviroment but I believe that it is at a minimum just to make it a nice commercial. So if people ***** about the higher and higher jumps in prices it is because it's the oil companies who are getting the benefits and the average consumer is getting jibbed!

Yanno, I saw this thread & started thinking.... I don't think I even know what gas is here...

I never pay that much attention. All I know is it never costs over $11 to fill up my tank (usually costs 8-9) & that takes me 254 miles.

If that helps you any.

Maybe its just me, but i dont see those as flaws in my arguement; its a fact. There is little that can be done to make gas burn better. Running higher ocs help to do that but its not up to the gas companies to increase the mpg that suvs and "light trucks" get.

Kyle the idea is to keep the miles low so i have a better resale value and the job doesn't pay enough for a second car. But great idea otherwise!
