i'm new to the boards, and i had a question for everyone.

what kinda cat-backs are you guys runnin? do you like em? were they affordable?

i've heard rs*r is one of the best you can get, but they're kinda hard to find. what else is out there?

Not sure, but you would not want to get a "no name" brand on ebay.

Go to a performance shop near you, and talk to the reps there.

got a used 5 zigen fireball. deep sound. not ricey. $215 1 year used on ebay. works great and sounds great, and gives a bit more torque.

I don't have a name brand one, I had a shop in town weld on all new piping with a custom muffler.

Well if you can get a good shop to mandrel bend pipes for you with quality results, then thats fine too. I would go with the larger companies such as a'pexi because they have done R&D and have designed the best possible system to get as much fart gas out of your system asap.

It's very deep, the combination of the intake and exhaust after 7k RPMs is amazing....and yes, I felt some power gain when I got it. At first I thought I had a lot of power gain, but once I filtered the sound and performance difference out it wasn't as much as I thought. :D

i have a 96 EK and i have a Super racing Madeallion from Tanabe, and it sounds awsome, the sound is deep and it demands attention, but it doesn't bother you while you drive it sounds good, i recommend it.

i have a question about the sound. i can't really explain the sound but i'll try. my cat back is pretty deep and clear but when i punch it and it gets to about 4 grand it kind of makes a sound that i have heard on other hondas but some don't. i really wish i could figure out why.

Also most cars sound better in the higher RPMs, that's just how it is. Most of the cars that I have driven sound deeper and better after 3.5-4k RPMs.

yeah its vtec, but would the vtec make the exhaust itself sound like that
