This is the wierdest damn thing.

My cousin has a 93 Civic VX (Hatch). I ordered a header for it since he cracked his. I ordered a Chikara 2 piece. Just needed something cheap to get by. ANyhow.

We take it a shop to get installed. The shop says they can't do it becuase it eliminates the cat. I was like wtf? How? So they put it on a lift and sure enough it looks like it would. The cat is in between the primaries and the downpipe. Maybe this is normal, but its the first time I've seen it(I know 96-00 aren't like this). So my question is what the heck is going on? The header doesn't say it replaces the cat. Which is also VERY illegal.

Here's the header I ordered...

Any pictures, advice, etc is appreciated.

hmm...cant say ive ever heard of this happening and i know that chikara is 'ok' for the money. from the pic it doesnt look like it would eliminate the cat...well you could always have it cut and a new plate welded on...

welcome to the world of Nissan's :)

you need to relocate it or just go without it. many nissan headers come with the cat on it due to this. it may be though that you got the wrong one by accident? Check the model number. You are right cuz nowhere does it say that the cat would need to be removed, and this is not a racing header.

Yeah. I'm going to double check the number again.

Frustrating crap.
