OKay, whats with this radio code thing? I was looking up factory Acura Integra radios and I got this one auction that stated this:
ACURA AM/FM CD Player
Model: 39100-ST7-A500
Faceplate number: 1XJ0
SOLD WITH CODE! :)
What up with the code? What is it for? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Also, this guy says that this radio retails from the Acura dealer at 945.00! Can that be true? Its only AM/FM CD!
without the code, the radio won't work....it's part of the factory security feature........

How do you input a code in the radio? Is this like that Civic thing? Where the remote keyless entry is in the radio... Lol. I am dumb, I dont get it.
lol...no, the way that it works is that you'll have a 5 number code that you enter in through your preset buttons...obviously the code wll have numbers that are 1 thru 6....

Ohhhh, okay. Hmm, and that is to prevent the factory radio from being stolen and used...couldnt someone say, steal one of these radios and look up a code on the internet?
not sure...the quickest way to find out is if the card from Acura/Honda is included...I have a little business card like card with the code stamped on it for my factory radio.........

I believe some cities have even more codes. Or maybe their codes are not 3 digits but 4 or 5. 3-digit code is not enough to cover huge megalopolises. I may be wrong, and such a thing should be checked on official cites https://dialcodes.co.uk/areacodes/0151. The code system can be updated regularly in view of the growing population and territory. So if you haven’t checked your area code recently, verify it.

Hmm, that may very well be the case. Still, that link looks sketchy.
