Well some of you remember a thread I posted about my work laying off people. Well they did it again. Only this time its worse.

They laid off 3 people & demoted one. That's not the bad part. In addition to this they have raised my insurance by $20 per month, gave me a 5% pay cut and frozen pay increases(raises). And there's more layoffs to come.

This sucks. I was just looking to get a condo or apartment this year too. I was also looking at getting a new car. I guess none of this will happen.

What a way for the new year to start off. Ahh well. I just had to vent a bit. I guess it could be worse. Somehow......

This coupled with the fact that the IT job market really sucks in Ohio, doesn't make things better. Grrr~ I hate this company....

That really sucks....I've been thinking about not re-enlisting and getting a job on the outside but it seems like the market is pretty shitty right now....

Yeah its not worth it. I'd just stay in. Hell I might as well sign up. Seems to be a bit more secure anyhow.

i know know there is not much out there because i've been trying to get out of mcdonalds for the past couple of months but can't find anything worth while that there isn't a good chance at being laid off at

Yeah fast food is about the best bet for not getting laid off. I've already done my time though. 2 years at Arby's was enough for me.:pukey

I would get go back to school if i was you.. to many people in the IT field as it is. What most people dont realize is the demand for them is long since gone and it will only contiue to decrease as time goes on. People going to school now for IT jobs will have next to no luck getting them because there is a huge body of experienced IT profesionals out there who are more qualified for the job.

Any of you goin into IT stay out of it... seriously!

Depends on the market. I can find plenty of IT jobs in Cleveland, but I'm not about to move to Cleveland.

As wierd as it sounds, I was thinking of going back & majoring in history(liberal arts I guess would be the actual degree). It interests me. I like computers and I'm good at what I do, but history is very interesting. I find myself watching Discovery & the History channel alot.

Don't know. It kinda scares me to think that I would be teaching someone. Then again I don't know what else you can do with that degree.
