My friend and I were discussing on when to drop the clutch, on a launch, on my car. We thought at about 3K RPM would be a good bet, for the fastest launch (Im sure you could drop it at 5K, but all you would be doing is spinning the tires.) What do you guys say.

depends on tires, road conditions, power the car makes.. there are MANY factors... i normaly launch at around 4200 on juice.. on VERY low 205 series tires.. and hook ok...

I usually drop at 3k, but like oc said it depends on the car and conditions. You just have to see what is good for your car.

Around 3k or a little higher works well for me. Start in that general range and just see what works for you.

i always drop too high and get a LOT of spin, i'd say test it out. Try different RPMs and see what works best.
