yep its a straight drop in. I am planning on doing the same exact thing from the same place, actually :yes: You just gotta swap out all the parts for the b16 ones. iRACEmyCTR did a b16b swap for a DX. I sent em an email asking for some help so a better answer should be here soon.:yes:

to put a b16a2 into the 97ex you need some other stuff. they say it's drop in but actually you gotta buy some 99-00 mounts so it will mount up. I think you might also have to do some wiring stuff but i cant remember. Like pdiggitydogg said i spent an extra $1000 and bought the b16b which is a difference of 25horsepower, a racing transmission, ctr internals, lsd, and a red valve cover, and best of all it's EXACTLY DROP IN BOLT IN NO HARD STUFF TO WORRY ABOUT EXCEPT BUYING THE HIGHEST OCTANE YOU CAN FIND! so ya do whatever you think will be better for your purposes and buy from www.hmotorsonline.com because the customer service there is better and they hae the best prices too.

ok sweet yea i was thinking about the H22 but i think it would b a hastle to put in. How many miles do you guys think would be on this engine cause im sure anything would be an improvement on the 120,000 i have on the ex right now :) thanks.

anywhere from 25-50K. ask the store and they'll give you an est.

just be sure to convert km to mi (if youre US) if you get an imported engine so you know what distance its taveled

does the motor he showed.. the second generation sir motor have cable or hydrolic tranny..

as ben found out theres another neat problem.. when you buy a jdm motor its wired for rhd your car is lhd getting the harness into the car MAY require cutting and splicing.. bens harness was JUST long enough but i think it took him some time to get the wires in..

oh shit, thats a real good point on that wiring harness, that it might being too short...if it is every wire has to be cut and lenthened...and thats like...what...60 wires max? That would definataly take all day and a HUGE amount of patience...boy im gonna have fun doin that...:o

the engines from osaka come with the harness uncut.
