View Full Version : to correct the car after lowing....?

not sure exactly what. but what do i need to correct the tires after the car is lowered? you know, when the bottom part of the tire is sticking out more than the top? camber kit right? how much would one of these cost? ill get someone to install it, i just need to know what all i need, so they dont try and sell me something i dont need for the job.

Hey fork, looks like you live close to me.

About the alignment, that depends how much you lower it from stock. Right now, I did almost a complete 2" drop, and when I took it to the alignment place, the guy said I didn't need to purchase a camber kit just yet. If I go past 2", then I would need one. Make sure after you drop you car, take it in immediately for toe/camber adjustment.

Also, a camber kit online (ingalls) cheapest I could find was about $180.. this was on ebay.

Also, you could probably install the camber kit yourself. Save yourself a wad of cash.

hey cool, maybe we can meet up some time ;)
actually, i already have the car lowered. they 'said' it was a 2 inch drop. but ive seen other 2 inch drops that arent nearly as drastic (theres still space between tire and body) mine is pretty extreme. so im not quite sure maybe they lowered it more accidentally ( a good/bad thing i guess) but, ill take it to a shop and see what they say.

take the car for an alignament. sometimes the tire might look like it has camber because of the toe. anyway wait for the shop to tell you if u need a camber kit or not, and if u need one make sure you get the anchor bolts one, not the pivot kit. it will mess up the caster on your car.

coudl be different tire/rim combo.

nah the car has stock rims and tires. i went there and they said the camber was the worst in the back, because i had a sub box in my trunk. the guy said he would hook me up with a progress camber kit. cuz i have progress springs i guess. he said the whole thing would cost about 180 which includes install and hardware. so i guess that sounds pretty good?

i think the prgress kit has the washer adjustament for the rear and anchor bolts for the front. it shoul be all good.
